Making a Scan

  • The project is open and your Stonex device is connected — the screen says “Tap Start to begin scanning” when ready.
  • Place the device in a stable, quiet spot without moving objects in view.
  1. In the project’s scan list, tap NEW SCAN. A scan session is created and opens.

  2. Tap Start.

  3. Hold the Stonex device still while the SLAM system initializes — the app shows “Initializing SLAM system…” with a countdown of about 20 seconds. Moving too early degrades the scan.

  4. When recording begins, walk through the space at a steady, slow pace. The header shows live points, frames, and the device battery.

  5. Switch the 3D preview between Free and Follow camera modes as you prefer — this only changes the preview, not the recording.

  6. To capture a snapshot at your current position, press and hold the snapshot button. A short tap shows “Hold longer to capture a snapshot”.

  7. Tap Stop when you are done. Confirm in the “Stop Scanning” dialog — “All scanning progress will be saved.”

  8. Wait for processing to finish. The screen shows “Scan Complete” and the scan appears in the project’s scan list.
