Sync Data (USB)

Scan recordings live on the Stonex device until you copy them over USB. While a project has unsynced scans, its page shows the orange Sync data button (uploading becomes available only after everything is synced). A copied scan shows a “synced” badge in the scan list.

The Sync Scan Data wizard walks you through five steps:

  1. Connect Device — connect the iPad to the Stonex device with a USB cable (older iPads: use a Lightning-to-USB adapter). The device must be powered on; it appears in the Files app when the connection works. Tap Continue.

  2. Select Source — tap Select Storage Device and pick the Stonex device’s storage in the file picker, then Continue.

  3. Map Scans to Folders — the app discovers the scan folders on the device and matches each scan in your project to its folder:

    • Scans recorded through the app are matched automatically and show a green check.
    • For the rest, use Choose Folder — folders are sorted newest first, so your most recent scan is usually the top folder.
  4. Tap Start Sync (enabled once every scan is mapped). Progress shows per scan, with time remaining. Keep the cable connected.

  5. Sync Completed — tap Done. The scans now carry the “synced” badge and the project shows Upload Project.

  • No SLAM Folders Found — the picker selected the wrong storage, or the device hasn’t finished writing. Check the Stonex device is on and unlocked, then reselect.
  • Insufficient Disk Space — the iPad needs as much free space as the message states; free up storage and retry.
  • Sync fails midway — check the cable (use the powered adapter), then restart the sync; already-copied scans keep their “synced” badge.
